I BELIEVE
A southern girl's story of survival
A story of life, love, loss, and divine timing...

Brenda O'Brien recounts her days growing up in the heart of the honky tonks, truck stops and nightclubs of West Memphis, Arkansas. After raising three boys she returned to writing music, her original love.

"This book about my life, written at age 80, is full of darkness. I got through it all by believing in God and seeing the light. I learned along the way that life is good if you have music and positive vibes. Life will always offer you a choice, including the path of goodness, to see things with light and love. I tried to reach out for positive things and to believe in myself. This belief has guided me through rough times. This song which stayed with me my whole life, ignited the good fire within me and gave me a lot of strength during my journey. What follows is my story about that journey.

"I am very proud of my parents background and what they contributed to the music world. They owned the Plantation Inn Night Club, across the bridge from Memphis, Tennessee. Among the many greats that played there or visited the club were: Willie Mitchell, Isaac Hayes, Calvin Newborn, Floyd Newman, Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis and many more that have spread the sound of soul, rock and blues around the world."
